About IELTS Writing Checker
Providing free, accessible, and high-quality writing diagnostic tools for IELTS test candidates worldwide.
Our Mission
Preparing for the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) can be financially challenging and daunting. Private tutor essay grading often costs between $15 and $40 per essay with turnaround times of several days. Our goal is to empower self-studying candidates globally by providing instantaneous, rubric-based automated feedback on practice responses.
Assessment Methodology
Our evaluation engine assesses writing against publicly published band descriptors released by Cambridge English, IDP, and the British Council. We score submissions across:
- Task Achievement & Task Response (TA/TR): Word counts, prompt adherence, stance consistency.
- Coherence & Cohesion (CC): Structural progression, paragraphing, and variety of linking devices.
- Lexical Resource (LR): Sophisticated academic collocations and vocabulary diversity.
- Grammatical Range & Accuracy (GRA): Complex subordinating structures and sentence variance.
