Average four criteria
Each task is marked on Task Achievement/Response, Coherence & Cohesion, Lexical Resource and Grammatical Range & Accuracy.

Round to a half band
Below .25 rounds down, .25 rounds up to .5, and .75 rounds up to the next whole band. For example, 6.25 becomes 6.5 and 6.75 becomes 7.0.

Weight Task 2 double
Overall writing = Task 1 × 1/3 + Task 2 × 2/3, rounded the same way. Task 1 at 6.0 and Task 2 at 7.0 gives 6.67, reported as 6.5.
